Established in April 2016, the Young Brent Foundation (YBF) has been working to collaborate and strengthen the existing offer in Brent and is one of the three founding Young People’s Foundations.
Working collaboratively with the youth voluntary sector, the YBF is continuing to develop a diverse network of members who are keen to support young people by facilitating the delivery of activities and events and work in partnership across the sector.
Types of Membership
The Young Brent Foundation has two types of membership: Main Membership and Partners.
Members are organisations that deliver activities for children and young people within Brent
Partners are larger not-for-profit organisations that act as partners on significant funding bids.
With over 50 members, the Young Brent Foundation is growing from strength to strength and is setting the quality precedent for children and young people’s work in the borough.

Current Funding Projects
The YBF has been working hard to obtain funding for its membership. It is proud to have been successful in securing funds from the National Citizenship Service, London Sport and Goldsmiths’ Company.
This funding has enabled the delivery of the Pathfinders Programme, which involves six youth development organisations working with 85 young people over a 12-week period, 11 new sports programmes delivered by nine providers over a 12-week period and up to 30 small youth organisations accessing funds o strengthen the effectiveness of their services.
The YBF currently has no website but it is developing a media campaign to improve communication and increase information sharing across the sector. It is currently developing a website and social media pages and will involve young people, parents, youth workers and stakeholders to ensure that a universal vision is adopted and shared.
